Dora is staying at a cottage belonging to her sister and her husband when late one night she wakes up to some suspicious sounds. When she goes down to the living room, she discovers a barefoot, shivering little girl looking petrified and a strange man in the kitchen. "Who the hell are you?" When the man realizes that Dora is living there, he decides to leave immediately. While she doesn't mind the man's departure, Dora can tell from looking at her that the little girl has a fever and isn't feeling well. Dora can't bear to abandon her. Just then, the police show up having been alerted by the home security system. Without thinking, Dora lies and tells the police that nothing is amiss!
